With every misfire and misstep on offense, the pressure is undoubtedly now seriously mounting on Texans embattled first-year offensive coordinator, Nick Caley. Of course, head coach DeMeco Ryans has shifted the blame upon his own shoulders. But that’s about as sound a long-term plan as the Texans have when they’re first and goal.

The Houston Texans will be without star wide receiver Nico Collins for Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the 49ers.

Change was expected to come to the Texans after back-to-back postseason appearances, but six games into the season and it looks like regression.

Not only is Christian Kirk still dealing with his lingering hamstring injury to keep him out of their prior showing vs. the Seattle Seahawks, but star wideout Nico Collins is likely to be out at least one game due to the concussion he suffered on Monday as well.

Those who were declared out Sunday were quarterback Brock Purdy (toe), center Jake Brendel (hamstring), edge rusher Bryce Huff (hamstring), wide receiver Ricky Pearsall Jr. (knee) and defensive lineman Yetur Gross-Matos (knee). Lenoir was questionable along with linebacker Luke Gifford (hamstring) as was guard/tackle Spencer Burford (knee).

The Houston Texans will be without Nico Collins for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel must step up.

Meanwhile, the Texans haven't been as fortunate to begin the 2025 campaign. Houston has started 2-4 and is fresh off a 27-19 loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. To make matters worse, the Texans could be without star wide receiver Nico Collins, who suffered a concussion against the Seahawks.
