Korean infielder Kim Hye-seong is set to enter the star-studded MLB stage after joining the Los Angeles Dodgers under a three-year deal worth $12.5 million with an option to extend for two more years.

SEOUL, Jan. 7 (Yonhap) -- With an infield logjam addressed in a reported trade, the Los Angeles Dodgers' new South Korean player Kim Hye-seong appears to have a clearer path to playing time than when he signed last week.

The Korean free agent and Seattle Mariners target reportedly turned down more money to sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Korean Baseball Organization star Hye-seong Kim to a three-year deal on January 3. He would presumably take over as the team's everyday second baseman. That could mean the Dodgers no longer need one of their longtime starters.

SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Yonhap) -- South Korean All-Star infielder Kim Hye-seong has signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kim's agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), said Saturday Kim agreed to a three-year deal worth US$12.5 million, with an option for two more years that would give him a chance to make up to $22 million total.

With hours left to go before his posting window closes, Hyeseong Kim and the Dodgers are reportedly in agreement on a three-year deal.

Unveiled as a Los Angeles Dodger this weekend, South Korean infielder Kim Hye-seong will likely serve in a utility role if he makes the big league roster come March.
