31 years ago today "Hotstuff" Eddie Gilbert died at the age of 33 from a heart attack in Puerto Rico. The son of Tommy Gilbert, Eddie wrestled all around the world but always seemed to return home to Memphis. He was a wrestler, a promoter and a booker over the course of his career. Gilbert was married to Missy Hyatt and later Madusa Micelli. Another great gone too soon, one can only imagine what his role could have been during the Monday Night Wars of the 90s.
