Believed to be at least 5800 years old, the Sweet Track is attributed to the Neolithic period of the Somerset Levels, England. It was discovered in 1970 during peat excavations and is named after its discoverer, Ray Sweet. It is made of timber, mainly oak planks supported by crossed pegs of ash, oak, and lime, and features a causeway built to cross marshland, with wooden components preserved in peat.
