“Hawaiian Music” John Iervolino was an integral part in clearing the sampling of Gabby’s Pahinui legendary song “Hiʻilawe” for the rap group Sudden Rush. This would be the first time a Hawaiian Hip-Hop group would officially sample Gabby Pahinui and blend together, Hawaiian and Hip-Hop music. The track went on to be Sudden Rush’s biggest hit and featured on the TV show “Dog the Bounty Hunter” which exposed them to a worldwide audience.
